Rukinga Conservancy
moments

Nestled alongside the Marungu Hills, Rukinga Wildlife Conservancy is a prime Acacia-Commiphora woodland habitat for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalos, and many other wild animal species. The Conservancy’s community programs are aimed at increasing access to sustainable income sources for local communities.

The 74,000-acre Rukinga Conservancy forms part of an important elephant corridor between Tsavo East and West National Parks. Our aim is to protect wildlife as well as increase alternative income sources and other additional community benefits. Conservation increases ecosystem resilience, safeguards jobs which depend on the natural environment, such as farming and forestry. Natural areas and conservation activities also support jobs in tourism, preserve cultural heritage and recreation and health.
